Happy 4th of July ~ Let Freedom Ring

For those that live in the U.S.A. today is our celebration of our Independence ~ there will be parades, cook outs and lot of celebrating going on ~ but taking a moment and thinking exactly why we are celebrating ~ because a lot of great men came together way way back in time to stand up and say enough is enough … they fought many horrific battles, they held secret meetings to discuss drawing up what we know is the United States Declaration of Independence that separated us from Great Britain ~ where we get the phrase from ” Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” as well as religious freedom that was a big reason so many flocked to our great nation to have the chance to pursue those rights ~ USA does not tell you that you cannot be a Catholic, a Jew or any other type of religion you believe in ~ you are free to believe ~ back then that was so important that men risked their lives over this ~ to become “Free” ~

Let Freedom Ring

So yes am an American and yes I love my Country with all our faults, with all our troubles it is still one great Nation ~ so will leave you with these words from a song that I love by Lee Greenwood ~

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I worked for all my life
And I had to start again
With just my children and my wife

I thank my lucky stars
To be living here today
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can’t take that away

And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota
To the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea

From Detroit down to Houston
And New York to L.A.
Where’s pride in every American heart
And it’s time we stand and say

That I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
